In light of the recent deaths of student-athletes Lauren Bernett from James Madison University, Sarah Shulze from the University of Wisconsin, Sean North from Saint Louis University, and Katie Meyer from Stanford (and other student-athletes who have died by suicide in the past year), Dr. Jen Fry of JenFryTalks and Michelle Jalali of Jalali Consulting are hosting a Zoom webinar on Wednesday, May 4 at 8pm ET to talk about about bringing a holistic trauma-informed lens to our equity work within Athletics.

Many within the Athletics and Sport communities are struggling, and Jen and Jalali want to help coaches, staff, and others as they navigate this difficult time and everything it’s bringing up for folks.

They’ll discuss why a trauma-informed approach is so necessary and ways you can start utilizing this framework to provide the needed support to athletes, coaches, and staff. They’ll share ways to support those who often get overlooked in the wake of these tragedies. While this conversation is only scheduled for 45 minutes with 15 minutes Q&A at the end, Jen and Michelle will stay on longer for anyone who wants to chat more or even process what you are seeing in your own community.

The Retreat Conversation Is Not the Finish Line
